Code of Conduct

pgDay Paris believes that it is everyone’s responsibility to make the conference a fun and inclusive event for all. We are committed to providing a harassment-free experience for all of our participants, volunteers, and staff.

What does this mean? It means that we don’t tolerate harassment of pgDay Paris participants, volunteers, or staff in any form.

Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, displaying sexual or violent images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.

As part of our commitment to providing a safe space for all, sexual or violent language and imagery is not appropriate for any conference venue, including exhibition booths, talks, and social events around pgDay Paris.

If you are asked to stop a harassing behaviour, you are expected to comply immediately, failing which pgDay Paris conference organizers may take any action deemed appropriate, including ejection from the conference with no refund.

Similarly, if a participant engages in harassing behavior, the pgDay Paris conference organizers may take any action they deem appropriate.

Participants at pgDay Paris can and should expect to have a harassment-free environment during our conference. If you feel that you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a staff member immediately. We do everything we can to provide a safe and secure environment for participants to engage meaningfully in their PostgreSQL passion; but it’s up to each and everyone one of us to make sure that the environment remains a safe space for all.

Our volunteers or staff can help you make appropriate arrangements to feel safe for the duration of the event, including but not limited to contacting venue security, providing escorts, or liaising with appropriate authorities.

We expect everyone who signs up to attend our conference to abide by this code of conduct. Thank you for your help in making pgDay Paris fun and enjoyable for everyone!
